  • Roots of GU experience: Davis Center (On/offstage and Scene Shop), TPST Classes, Black Theater Ensemble, Mask & Bauble, & Nomadic Theatre
  • What’s the Davis Center’s lasting impact on your current values and work? I often recall conversations and experiences I’ve had performing and studying at the Davis Center. Natsu has had a major impact on how I approach process and devised collaborative work. Maya’s production of Macbeth pushed me as a performer and actor. Ultimately, I carry with me most the tools, games, directorial advice, and theatre practices absorbed while a TPST major.
  • What did you study and did you pursue graduate school? I expected to study Marketing in the Business School, but I graduated as a Theater and Performance Major. I then got my MFA (Choreography & Performance) from Florida State University.
  • What are some professional highlights? I toured internationally with Solange Knowles as Assistant Movement Director for her European Festival tour in Summer 2019, culminating in a performance at the Sydney Opera House.

Another was organizing and managing the Dance for Social Change Festival in New Orleans, a year-long program for high school students in which they choose a social issue affecting their community, devise an artistic response, and present and co-produce the work. My experience in several devised works at Georgetown (Address:Unknown, Madness & Civilization, Spectacle of Eating, Adaptation & Performance, etc.) influenced the process I facilitated with these young artists.
